Tammie Mennis

Senior Physiotherapist and Founder of Moveable Kids

Tammie Mennis is a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist who has worked with children with disabilities and movement difficulties since 2004. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) and worked in a rural hospital briefly before pursuing her passion of working with children in 2004. Since then she has worked in educational and hospital settings with children and in 2016 began private practice work establishing Moveable Kids. Tammie is also director and owner of Well & Able, a supplier of medical-grade wearable postural support equipment for children. In 2009 Tammie completed Bobath training in London, a form of neurodevelopmental therapy for children with neurological disabilities. Tammie enjoys travelling and taking Max for long walks on the beach her family.

Matthew Malczewski

Physiotherapist

Matthew graduated from the Australian Catholic University as a Physiotherapist in 2020 and has a background in Human Services. During his professional career he has worked in out-of-home care services, post-school services for people with a disability, and respite for children with disabilities. After years of working in social services, Matthew was inspired to help people create long-lasting, positive changes in their lives. Following his placement experience at the Queensland Childrens’ Hospital 3D Gait Lab, he recognises the importance of providing children with opportunities to grow in their repertoire of movement. Matthew is passionate about building childrens’ confidence and developing their abilities through movement, fun and play.

Greg Mennis

Business Manager

Greg is the hard working business manager who ensures that all the bills are paid and the practice operates smoothly. Greg has an extensive background in the IT industry and was a primary school teacher for 7 years. He is enjoying the new challenges this role provides. Greg enjoys AFL, travelling and spending time with his family.

Tawnee Sergeant

Administration Officer, Therapy Assistant in Training

Tawnee has worked with children and their parents for over 10 years. In 2010, she decided to pursue her interests in Allied Health and assistive technology through a Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance. Since coming to work at Moveable Kids / Well & Able, she has found a real love for working with clients and families to provide products and therapies that improve their daily life and bring a smile to their face.
When she isn’t a work, she can usually be found near the ocean or a BMX track with her husband and 3 boys.

Kristie Algate

Administration Officer

Kristie is the most recent member to join our team. Kristie recently re-entered the workforce after having two beautiful girls. Prior to being a stay at home mum, Kristie worked in a number of Administration roles and has over 15 years experience providing Administration Support. Kristie and her family love animals and the outdoors. On the weekends they can be spotted camping, water skiing, horse riding and four wheel driving.

Max

Therapy Dog

Max is an adorable male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a breed well known for their affectionate and happy nature. Max loves playing chasey, going for walks and receiving cuddles.  Max and Tammie have completed a five-day intensive training course through Therapy Dogs Australia certifying them as a therapy dog team. As part of his training, Max participated in high-level obedience and good behaviour shaping making him suitable for therapy dog work. Max is at the clinic most days waiting for a pat from everyone who visits.

Moveable Kids is under the patronage of St Germaine Cousin. Germaine was a young girl who lived in France in the 1500's who was born with a deformed and partially paralysed arm. St Germaine is the patron saint of children with disabilities and physiotherapists.
